ABOUT
BASICS: Life Skills education
Traditional life skills dictate what youth should learn as they grow into adulthood. Skills such as cooking, housekeeping, shopping, driving a car and other home-based skills. These are helpful skills to know, but they are not what most youth are concerned about. BSL is a skills-based educational curriculum that differs in that it addresses topics that professionals and studies show are the fears and challenges that youth have shown and cited as their concerns. In brief, BSL is youth-centered rather than traditional outward focus learning. In addition, it has topics that works from the inside out. Its curriculum combines self-awareness and activities for youth and young adults about themselves that can be a factor in their navigation throughout life.
